With a strong focus on community, SPOT provides a platform to uplift designer-makers and offer shopping, learning and development opportunities to our visitors.

Founded in 2019, SPOT was created to fill a gap in Scotland for premium, curated markets that create memorable experiences for both designers and shoppers, which has developed into our hub in Shawlands hosting the shop, events and a small gallery.

Discover SPOT

We are made up of 5 parts, all celebrating and elevating craft and design. We have been supporting creatives since 2019.

Our design markets; running since 2019, we host 2-3 a year. They’ve survived covid online, been hot listed by The Times between a Joaquin Phoenix movie and Jools Holland and have an overall average satisfaction rating of 9.2/10 from our designers and producers.

A natural progression from our markets to show you the best of designers + makers. The work we stock are mainly from Scotland, with a few from the rest of the UK and even Europe.

Each weekend in the shop, we invite a designer and maker to show and sell their work to you, offering great conversation and a chance to meet the maker.

Creative hands on workshops, socials, food popups, talks… this will soon take place in our downstairs event space. As well as being for hire, we will offer a running program of opportunities to create, learn, make friends, network, eat, drink, listen…

Here we will show and sell works by creatives who cross the boundary between art and design. We also hope to host residencies for creatives to experiment and make new works to sell, which will be shown here.

2022 + 2023:

£35332 to support a series of workshops, at-home workshop kits. This was half the amount required to fund the total project. You can now purchase the workshop at-home kits in the shop.
